Inspection Complete!
We had a great crew this past week in Chama. We started work on the 315 last Saturday. The FRA observed our hydrostatic test on Tuesday. The locomotive was very dry. We had done a preliminary hydrostatic test on Sunday and fixed a few packing leaks and one wash out plug weep. Erin Swain performed the internal boiler inspection on Wednesday.
Scot Proudfoot, Mike Hauser, Gene Lincoln, and Dave Taylor disassembled the reat air compressor, cleaned the internals and resealed it with new gaskets.
Dave Hibl cleaned and tested the air brake valves.
We steamed up the engine on Thursday, set the safety valves, tested the sir compressors and made some test runs in the Chama yard.
We drained the boiler and tender on Friday and cleaned up the new tool trailer.
Thanks to all the crew members who worked to get the 315 through it annual this past week.
